Cob Pizza Oven
Sasolburg, Freestate
This experimental cob pizza oven was built for a friend with the purpose of testing the strength, labor, and structural potential of cob as a building material. Constructed over the course of one week by two people and finished with lime plaster, the oven reaches temperatures of 250 degrees Celsius and retains heat efficiently. This project demonstrated the durability and cost-effectiveness of cob, an ancient building material, proving its viability for modern use.
