Established in 2020, we are a small practice that prides ourselves in bringing our client’s dreams to reality by implementing good design and sustainable principles. We believe in creating and adding exceptional value to all the projects we choose to get involved with. This also promotes personal and environmental health.
We believe in and advocate for a simplistic, no-nonsense aesthetic in our designs that are holistically informed by location, climate, construction material, and the environment to provide something more than just a home.
We promote environment-friendly and responsible construction methods and materials. This means less reliance on concrete, brick, or steel in our buildings, minimizing its embedded energy, and maximizing efficiency.
Hernes Kruger is the founding member and director of TNKgreen. With 18 years of design and construction experience, your projects and dreams are in safe and professional hands.
We specialize in residential projects but also have experience in retail, corporate, and hospitality design. Whether you’re dreaming of a sustainable home or office feel free to contact us for a consultation and design quote.

PORTFOLIO
With ArchVisi Architects this luxury boutique hotel in Komatipoort, South Africa, was designed to blend with nature and highlight its Lowveld setting. Large volumes, roof overhangs, and evaporative cooling help shade and regulate the temperature in the common room and restaurant. A modern take on traditional timber roof construction. |
With Henri Beukes Architects. Intensive conversion and addition to a dilapidated house in Lynwood Glen. Designed around the old established trees on the property this house with its green heart lives inward rather than out. |

This project consisted of extensive additions to an existing holiday home in Keurboom Strand in the Garden Route, South Africa. Situated on an exposed street corner a new suspended timber deck was designed with integrated seating and screen to provide privacy and make maximum use of the natural lagoon views. |
This extensive upgrade of a 70’s apartment in Hatfield included the redesign of the entire layout. By adding a new bedroom, redoing the kitchen, and upgrading the bathroom we bought this apartment back into the 21st century |
