After losing a large tree, this garden transitioned from dry shade to full sun overnight. Our client approached us to design an indigenous space that maximizes a small footprint while accommodating their bonsai collection and entertainment needs. By formalizing the garden’s shape and extending several beds, we introduced six different indigenous shrubs underplanted with a curated selection of grasses and groundcovers. The result is a “wild but contained” low-maintenance sanctuary.
