Church Square, Pretoria, Gauteng

Church Square sits at the heart of the Pretoria CBD, surrounded by historic landmarks such as the Palace of Justice. Despite its rich history, the square has become underutilised. This concept design establishes a fresh identity for the site by introducing a lightweight conservatory inspired by the original church that burned down in 1930. The Veil creates a serene, public sanctuary—inviting the city to slow down, reflect, and cultivate a shared urban identity.
